Welcome to FAME2K

FAME2K is Florida's premier competitive Sport Karate Circuit.

At FAME2K, our commitment to athletes goes beyond sport martial arts. We are committed to sponsoring events where youth and adult athletes like you can perform to their full potential. We invite you to join us and find out just how much you can achieve.

New Coaches Box Rule

FAME2K has implemented a new rule for 2010 in an effort to keep unnecessary congestion off the competition floor. You will notice one extra mat on each side of the ring. This is the designated area for one (and only one) coach providing they have purchased the appropriate coaches pass at registration. If at any point during the competition more than one person is around any area of the ring inside the competition area, and/or more than one person is located inside that coach’s box, a warning will be issued for that competitor. This new rule kept the competition floor clear at the Kick Off event and the feedback was very positive from both spectators and competitors alike.

Letter From The President

Dear parents and competitors,

2010 started off with exciting action at the Kick Off membership event held in Sanford. We followed the daytime event with our 2009 awards banquet. This year set we a record with an overwhelming participation of over 150 people! Congratulations to all the 2009 competitors. We awarded our State Champions with beautiful embroidered leather and suede jackets, and 3 gold rings to the overall adult Black Belt Grand Champions.

By now you have had a chance to appreciate our new FAME2K website. Our new website format will make it easier to navigate and provide valuable information to both competitors and parents. We have also added a new point tabulation sheet for competitors to keep track of your points throughout the year. We have also implemented a new point tabulation system that will make it easier to update after each tournament. Parents will have 45 days from each points update to contact us if they feel there is an error.

We have formed a new parent committee to serve as a bridge between competitors and the FAME2K circuit. Our goals are to improve your experience through better communication, and act as a sounding board for new ideas and feedback.

We are introducing referee training classes to teach anyone who is interested in becoming a certified Fame2K referee. Please check out the scheduled seminars and let us know if you are interested in attending.

We are going to start featuring our competitors on the website in 2010. We will have a page designated to showcase our talented youth and adult competitors. We will be bringing back the Hall of Fame in 2010, and also have an advertising section on the website for local karate schools, businesses and parents/competitors that wish to advertise on the site.

Tony Young’s December event will count towards point standings in 2010. We have also added another event in the Jacksonville area.

We have a group of parents that have expressed an interest in becoming scorekeepers and time keepers so we have created an official committee for that as well. Please contact us if you have an interest! Last, but not least, will be adding a photo gallery on the FAME2K website in 2010!

As always we greatly appreciated your support. We look forward to a an exciting year of fun and friendly competition in 2010. Thank you for helping us to make FAME2K the premiere martial arts circuit in the State of Florida.

Sincerely,
Dawn Roffey
